Cody Rivera spent twenty-three years in the Air Force having conversations that never officially happened. Now retired in Miami, he is having one more.
The pitch is simple. Find one man you trust with your life and bring him in. Find one man who hurt people and walked free, and learn everything about him. Nothing moves without approval.
Multilevel marketing for vigilantes.
Cody tells every recruit there are powerful people above him. There aren’t. There is only Cody, a plan he built alone over two years, and a date circled on a legal pad. The Fourth of July, when gunfire is just noise.
Then one recruit doesn’t wait for approval, and a seventeen-year-old girl who was never on anyone’s list pays the price.
Cody built a network that can never be traced back to him. Now he is learning it can’t be stopped by him either.
